How long do I have access to the course?

Students can enrol at Homeschool.ie in two ways

  • Monthly Subscription – 3 month minimum Subscription
  • Annual Subscription –  Get 3 months FREE with an Annual subscription.

For those enrolled in our Monthly subscription bundles, you will be able to cancel your subscription after the initial 3 month period by logging in to your account, selecting the “My Account” page and navigating to the “Subscriptions” tab.

When can I sign up?

You can enrol at any time during the school year. When you sign up you will get immediate access to all of the subjects available in your Primary, Junior or Leaving Certificate Bundle.

 

Do I have to purchase a Study Manual when enrolling?

No. All the notes are contained in a downloadable PDF for each lesson. The Study Manual is a hard copy of the notes for each lesson that will be posted to your home address.

What are the Key features of the Parent/Child Accounts on Homeschool.ie?

Upon enrolment, parents can create separate child accounts for each student. Primary, Junior, and Leaving Certificate subscriptions include one free child account; Family bundles include two free accounts. Additional child accounts are €5/month. Monitoring and management are done through the parent account’s ‘Child Progress Report’ and ‘Child Account Manager’ sections in MyAccount. Study materials, subscription upgrades, and mock exam purchases are only accessible through the parent account.

 

Is there a limit to how many times I can view each lesson?

Students have unlimited access to each video lesson and can watch at any time and at any stage throughout the course of the academic year.

 

Can I enrol even if I am not in an Examination year?

HomeSchool.ie’s Junior Certificate/Cycle subjects are suitable for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students. Leaving Certificate/Cycle subject available on HomeSchool.ie are suitable for 4th, 5th and 6th year students. The Primary School courses available are suitable for 4th, 5th and 6th class students. *Some courses will be specific to an assigned year if there is a significant difference in course content.

Can I use homeschool.ie instead of attending regular school?

Homeschool.ie always recommends that students use our service in conjunction with attending traditional school.

 

How do I cancel my subscription?

After subscribing for a minimum 3 month period, you can cancel your subscription by logging into your Homeschool.ie Account and selecting the Subscription Tab in the My Account section.

 

Can I study an extra subject at homeschool.ie for my State Examinations?

Yes. You can use homeschool.ie to take an extra subject as the entire syllabus is completed in one year. However, you must ensure that your school has registered you for that extra subject with the State Examinations Commission. Our teachers are unable to provide calculated grades or mark project work for the State Examinations.

 

I am a mature student and I wish to sit my Leaving Certificate exam next year. Can I study with homeschool.ie?

Homeschool.ie is a tuition only service and plays no role in ensuring that students are properly registered with the SEC for their examinations. More information on the registration process is available here.

 

Can homeschool.ie teachers accept project work for the purposes of assessment with the State Examinations Commission?

No. Homeschool.ie teachers are unable to accept any project work for the purposes of assessment for the State Examinations. If there is a project element in your subject that is required to be submitted before the actual Leaving Certificate in June, our teachers will not be in a position to sign off on this work for you.

 

Is it possible to sit my Junior Certificate/Cycle exams through homeschool.ie if I do not attend full time school?

With the new curriculum changes at Junior Cycle level, school based assessment components such as the 2nd and 3rd year Classroom Based Assessments (CBA’s) will be included as part of the Junior Cycle profile of Achievement (JCPA) awarded by schools after 3 years of study. Students therefore will not be able to obtain this Certificate through Homeschool.ie. To register for your Junior Certificate State Examinations in June you should contact the State Examinations Commission beforehand to discuss your application here.

 

Can I receive a refund after I have enrolled?

Only in exceptional circumstances will management at HomeSchool.ie consider partial refunds of fees. To apply for a refund, please email info@homeschool.ie with your name, the email address affiliated yo your HomeSchool.ie account and a detailed description as to why you are requesting a refund.

 

What makes homeschool.ie different from other online courses?

Can I sign up for the Mock Exam Service?
