October Mid-Term Break

• Close: Friday 24 October 2025
• Reopen: Monday 3 November 2025

Christmas Holidays

• Close: Friday 19 December 2025
• Reopen: Monday 5 January 2026

February Mid-Term Break

Post-Primary Schools

• Close: Friday 13 February 2026
• Reopen: Monday 23 February 2026

Primary Schools

• Close: Wednesday 18 February 2026
• Reopen: Monday 23 February 2026

Many schools extend the February mid-term break to a full week using discretionary closure days.

Easter Holidays

• Close: Friday 27 March 2026
• Reopen: Monday 13 April 2026

 Schools may remain open until Wednesday 1 April 2026 if contingency days are required due to unexpected closures earlier in the year.

Summer Holidays

Post-primary schools typically finish classes just before the June Bank Holiday weekend, when the State Examinations begin.

Primary schools normally close for the summer holidays in late June 2026.
